COST OF TRIPS
The price of our trips are given as ‘Land Only’ with an indication of the additional flight costs so that you can quickly see the total cost of your trip. We do not do ‘Extra Costs or Local Charges’; if a similar trek looks a lot cheaper elsewhere, check the small print. Normally the earlier you book the cheaper the flight (early is 6-9 months in advance!). We regularly reserve group seats 12 months in advance and as a result we can often provide a more reasonably priced flight. For those who choose to obtain their own flight (Land Only), a meeting place to join the group will be given in the destination country, which is normally the hotel.
ACCOMMODATION AND SUPPORT
The accommodation we use can be very varied. Within one trip you might overnight in a four star hotel, a mountain lodge, a local yurt or camp site. The majority of our walks are fully supported with a team to carry or transfer loads and kit, cook meals and set up camps meaning you would not normally be required to carry heavy loads. Our trip dossiers give full details.
SINGLE ROOM OPTIONS
If you are travelling on your own you will automatically be given a room with a fellow member of the group of the same sex and you will not be charged any additional supplement as a single person. We do offer the chance to book a single room on many trips if you prefer. On some trips, this single room option may not be for the whole duration, please call for details.
20% EQUIPMENT DISCOUNT CARD
On receiving your completed booking form we will issue you with a discount card giving you 20% off major brands of clothing and equipment (excluding sale items, books & maps, electrical items) from our very own shop. You can visit our shop in Ambleside, call us, or visit online and we will be happy to post items (postage charges apply).

INSURANCE
Adventure Walks can arrange your expedition insurance for you which will be issued at the time of booking, thus giving immediate cancellation cover. If you are thinking about booking more than one trek, walk or course, with or without us, you may wish to consider an annual policy. The cost of insurance is indicated in each trip description.

BEQUIPMENT HIRE
We operate an equipment hire service to all our clients for which details and costs will be sent with your booking confirmation. The equipment is always new or slightly used and of the highest quality.
PASSPORT AND VISAS
For many of the countries we visit you will require an entry visa. Details for UK passport holders are included in the relevant trip notes supplied on booking. A full passport valid for at least six months beyond the return date of the trip is usually required.
SPENDING MONEY
On the whole our trips are fully inclusive whilst on trek, so the only extras tend to be hotel meals (see trip dossiers), airport taxes £20, tips for local staff £35-£50 and of course the odd beer or drink and any souvenirs.
TRANSPORT
We use many different forms of transport on our trips: from minibuses to 4WD vehicles, local buses to trains; ferries, even elephants, donkeys and camels. Please be aware that whilst we aim to ensure the safety of such transport it may not be up to European standards and seat belts are not always available.
FOOD AND HEALTH
We aim to give you a healthy balance between local food and European style cuisine that is both substantial and varied. We are happy to cater for vegetarians or those with special diets. Please discuss prior to booking.
ALTITUDE
All trips are carefully planned to allow acclimatisation to altitude. This is important both for your safety and enjoyment. We want you to have an enjoyable experience and to come back for more! |
